In the Red…
Probably, all of you are wondering why I still went to support the same school that kicked me out. The reason is because I was not there to support the school that kicked me out, I was there to watch the game and have fun with my law school, neigh, bedan law school friends… it was actually fun. as bossing said, “sulit”
and if this reason fail, I went there to represent my father, a die hard bedan fan…
and yes, I wore a red and white shirt… a really big one…
it was like the typical UAAP game, the chants, the cheers, the crowd… but the pep squad of both squads were, either really lame or really low budgeted…. only a few drums and it does not drown any sound at all, (no one can still beat the Yellow Jackets)
what was amazing was the fact that the “red crowd” was the biggest I have seen in a game, more than three fourths of ARANETA was occupied by the red shirts… but I guess that is really normal, being that the crowd was composed of students and alumni of the 28 year championship drought of BEDA… all of them came there…
what was more fun for me was the fact that it was the first time I saw a game of an al boy school, and we all know the cliché “boys will be boys”
I have never seen exchange of banters and jeers to that extent, it was bordering on, I mean, it is already personal…. and the banners are of a different story…
lets start with the PCU’s banners, my favorites are, “ekwe i2 ka” than an arrow pointing to a silhouette of a man… then the “28 + 1 = 29” and “God shuts the mouth of the lions”
creativity and rudeness was on the bedans’ mind when they made their banners, with different drawings of lions devouring dolphins, banners were really personal, like, “espin-ass” or “espinas beluga” and worse “PCU iskwater”
the chants were of a different level, every time the PCU students would cheer PCU PCU, bedans would annex the word “bulok” after every PCU.. bedans shouted iskwater, and beluga…
the funniest for me was during even before the game started, the commissioner himself went to the microphone and asked who was throwing coins, then the bedans cheered “wala kaming barya”
I wont be describing the game, because clearly I a not a sports fan… just enjoy watching and it ends there…
after the game was even more fun, on our way to the RED VICTORY, the PCU fans were shouting at bedans in their cars, burning the bedan placards and shouting “1 point lang” and “28 years na talo”
And clearly we wont let them get away with, and we got to their nerves… airoshe also joked that that was double jeopardy, “talo na, manit pa sa bus” what was really fun was the fact that all cars going to beda had their hazards light on, like it was a big and long motorcade/convoy…
the party was also fun, free food, free drinks… not bad… although not that well organized, but fun nonetheless…
I ended the "end 28 at 82" at 2am
